Battery Crosby was a part of Fort Winfield Scott, part of the harbor defense of San Francisco and was built in 1900. During the Second World War, the battery was used for the protection of the minefields. The battery was operational until 1943, when it was deactivated. It was equipped with two 6" guns.
Nowadays the battery is open to the public.
