Battery Trueman was a part of Fort Pickens, part of the harbor defense of Pensacola and was built in 1908. The battery was operational until 1946, when it was deactivated. It contained two 3" guns. In 1942, the guns were moved to the already existing Battery Cullum, somewhere further on.
Nowadays the battery is open to the public.
