Battery Cooper

Battery Cooper was a part of Fort Pickens, part of the harbor defense of Pensacola and was built in 1906. The battery was operational until 1917, when it was deactivated and the guns were removed. It contained two 6" guns.

During the Second World War, the battery was reactivated, to support Battery GPF which was located around Battery Cooper.

Nowadays the battery is open to the public. In 1976, a gun of the same type as the original guns was added.
