Battery 245 was a part of Fort Stevens, part of the harbor defense of the Columbia River and was built from 1942 to 1942. The battery was operational until 1947, when it was deactivated. It was equipped with two 6"guns.
Nowadays the battery is open to the public. Guns from the Second World War, but not of the original type, are mounted.
