Russian Cannon Cardigan

This Russian gun at The Guildhall was captured by the British forces during the Crimean War (1853-1856) and presented as a trophy of the war.
The cannon was placed here on the 150th anniversary of the Charge of the 7th Earl's cavalry regiment, the Light Brigade (under command of Lord Cardigan) at Balaclava on 25 October 1854.
