Van Essenkazerne

The Van Essen barracks, a former artillery barracks, is listed as national heritage monument. During the German occupation the barracks were used as a Waffen-SS training center and set on fire by German forces during Market Garden.

The barracks also played a role during the First World War and the Indonesian Independence War.
