The Point Grey Battery guarded the Port of Vancouver against the treat of German and Japanese attack during WW2. It was active 1939-1948. It’s three six pound guns could fire 14,000 yards (12801 metres). The gun mounts remain in place. Number one gun emplacement it the best preserved and has an information plaque. It is located behind the Museum of Anthropology at UBC on the north side. Number 2 emplacement in inside the museum. It forms the base for Raven and the First Men by Bill Reid. Number 3 emplacement, now overgrown, is on the south side of the museum, beside the Great Hall. A walking trail around the museum provides access to emplacement 1 & 3.
