Memorial Crew Lancaster I R5728 VN-L 50 Sqn

Braine-le-Comte cemetery contains a memorial stone to the seven crew members of Lancaster I R5728 VN-L of 50 Squadron. The Lancaster was shot down by a German pilot and crashed at Braine-le-Comte. The seven crew members were killed:
Sgt Cyril Alfred Bowes (air gunner)
Plt Off Robert Hugh Curran (observer)
Sgt Leslie Foster (pilot)
Flt Sgt Cameron Duff Kennedy (air gunner)
Sgt Cyril John Stallard (air gunner)
Sgt Douglas John Ware (flight engineer)
Sgt Allan Wyles (wireless operator)

All seven crew members rest in the Braine-le-Comte Communal Cemetery
