Memorial First Aerial Fight

On 5 October 1914, above the border between the municipalities of Jonchery-sur-Vesle, Prouilly and Muizon, the first air fight in history took place. A French Voisin III, with pilot Joseph Frantz and mechanic Louis Quenault, shot down a German Aviatik B.I., with pilot Wilhelm Schlichting and observer Fritz von Zangen (they rest on the German war cemetery Loivre).
