This fort (1841) saw fighting in the Siege of Paris (1870-1871). Two high profile members of the far-right militant group O.A.S. were executed here between 1962 and 1963.
It is currently held by the Établissement de communication et de production audiovisuelle de la Défense (E.C.P.A.D.), which stores the audio-visual archives of the French defense forces from 1900 to present and produces new materials. Approximately 3.5 million photographs and 16,800 films are preserved.
