This building is the former Wilhelmina Catharina School.
During the Second World War, there was suddenly a wall in the middle of the school. In the war a wall was built right through the school. At the front of the school the non-Jewish children were taught, in the back the Jewish children by Jewish teachers.
This made the Wilhelmina Catharina School the only school in the Netherlands where the Jewish children were separated by a wall. Only a few children survived the mass murder.
This plaque was unveiled on February 25, 2005 by the students of ASVO & De Kleine Reus.
