German Bunker Battery E 690 Stützpunkt Bruchmüller

Built in 1941, this observation and fire control bunker is the only remaining part of railway battery E690 (Steunpunt Bruchmüller or Goltz). This bunker complex originally comprised some 40 objects and was equipped with four heavy guns. The observation and fire control bunker consisted of an observation room and an account room, as well as a radio room and a crew quarters. The observers in this bunker controlled the four guns, which were connected to Ostend station by a railway line.
