Dutch War Graves R.K. Begraafplaats St. Laurentius

The R.K. Begraafplaats St. Laurentius contains six Dutch war graves from the Second World War.

On August 10, 2020, a new grave monument was consecrated by the Bishop of Rotterdam. Later (in February 2021) the six war victims were reburied in the front of the monument with headstones from the old graves.
The text on the monument reads:

FOR THOSE WHO FELL THEN
THE WORLD WAS ON FIRE

The monument depicts a world on fire, with six wooden columns in front of it, representing the six war victims.

The names of the six are:

A.J. HIRSCHMANN, soldier, killed in action on 10 May 1940 in Pijnacker.

F.J. FLEGHAAR, died of hardship as a forced laborer on 10 September 1944 in Sindelfingen.

P.J.M. JUNGERHANS, cowardly shot on 10 February 1945 in Rotterdam.

A.J. WORSTELING, shot on April 3, 1945 at the Hoflaan in Rotterdam.

P.H. MAGRÉ, shot on 20 February 1945 at the Coolsingel in Rotterdam.

J.J.M. VAN DER LOO, shot on September 22, 1944 at the schietrange in Rotterdam.
