The construction of this large semi underground industrial complex, where to be produced parts of the Messerschmitt Me 262 (world's first jet-powered fighter), began in the summer of 1944. More than 10,000 forced labourers were involved in the construction (of whom many Jewish prisoners from the Muhldorf satalite camp). The unfinished complex was blown up by U.S. forces in 1946.
