The cemetery of Schaarbeek, located in the territory of Evere, contains Belgian war graves of the First and the Second War. These are the graves of soldiers, resistance fighters, political prisoners and deportees who lost their lives in both world wars. There are plots of honor for the fallen, other graves are scattered around the cemetery.
They are, among others, the officers Georges STAQUET, Major 4th Line regiment, killed in action at Halen on 12 August 1914 and Adolphe Leopold SALPETIER, Major 8th Line regiment, died in Bristol on 22 October 1914.
At the entrance of the cemetery is the grave of Gabrielle Petit, a member of the resistance during the First World War. Gabrielle Petit was executed by the Germans on 1 April 1916 for espionage.
