Memorial Nurses of Bastogne

Text on the memorial:
The Nurses of Bastogne memorial has been commissioned to honor all the nurses who risked their lives saving others during one of the darkest chapters of the history of Bastogne.

This memorial is dedicated in particular to the memory of the two Angels of Bastogne, Augusta Chiwy and Renee Lemaire but is meant to honor all the nurses whose heroic efforts have too often been forgotten by history. During the Battle of the Bulge, Belgian and American nurses saved hundreds of lives. This memorial will help ensure that their important legacy will always be remembered.
