German War Graves Zentralfriedhof

The Zentralfriedhof contains a military plot with German war graves from the Second World War. This plot was established in 1943 as 'Ehrenfriedhof' where German soldiers were buried. The plot was expanded in 1944 with many graves of civil casualties from the Allied air bombardment on Stralsund, 6 October 1944. There are also graves with an other nationality.

There are in total 1,589 soldiers and civil casualties with different nationalities buried here (mainly Germans).
