This monument was created by the sculptors Istvan Csorvassy and Izsak Marton. It is a part of the "Roses Plaza" urban complex in Targu Mures. It was erected in 1964 in memory to the sacrifice made by the Romanian Army in the battles in Transylvania during the autumn of 1944.
It is formed by the bronze statue of a Romanian soldier on top of a large base and plate of concrete and surrounded by concrete structures. On white Marble reliefs moments of the battle are depicted. On the main part an inscription in Romanina is placed stating: "Eternal glory to the soldiers of the Romanian army who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the country."
