Memorial Janusz Kusocinski

This memorial stone is dedicated to Janusz Kusocinski, olympic champion in 1932, Corporal in the Polish Army and resistance member. He was wounded in action during the fighting for fort IX "Czerniakow" in 1939. During the German occupation of Poland, Kusocinski worked as waiter, but was in the meantime also resistance member. He was arrested by the Gestapo on 26 March 1940 and shot 3 months later in the woods near Palmiry.

Janusz Kusocinski is currently buried on the Palmiry war cemetery.
