Jew House Bautzner Straße Dresden

The Jews were restricted in their liberties in 1938. The freedom to live in a place of choice was also restricted.
By the "Gesetz über Mietverhältnisse mit Juden" of 30 April 1939 it became possible that the landlord could terminate the lease. Jews who lived in their own homes were obliged to accept homeless Jewish families in their homes.
In 1939 the Jewish population were housed in so-called Jewhouses. The building on Bautzner Straße 20 is one of the 37 Jewhouses in Dresden.
