Memorial Ulma Family

This memorial is devoted to Jozef and Wiktoria Ulma and their 7 children who were executed in public on 24 March 1944 by the Germans. Jozef and Wiktoria were caught hiding Jewish families. 17 people were executed that day in Markowa. On September 13, 1995, Józef and Wiktoria Ulma were posthumously bestowed the titles of "Righteous Among the Nations" by Yad Vashem.
