This Air Observation Tower was built in 1953. The tower was one in a network of 276. The towers were used to spot enemy aircraft that were flying below the radar in the Cold War era. The tower became obsolete in 1968. This example is one of only 19 Air Observation Towers that survive. It is prvately owned and has been lovingly restored in 2015.
