Information Sign Crash Lancaster RAF General Cemetery Goudriaan

An information sign has been placed in front of the General Cemetery in Goudriaan. Here the story is published of one of the two survivors of the crash, Sergeant John Tomney.
When he steps into his Lancaster as flight engineer in the evening of Sunday, May 21, 1944, he is 22 years old. He then makes his 13th flight, which would end so unfortunate.
The first Red Cross package, which he received as a prisoner of war, includes a blank diary. In it John Tomney notes his facts from 22 May 1944 to 20 April 1945. He writes ........
