The museum is located in a former pig barn at the Ruwhof farm in a neighborhood of the municipality of Aalten Barlo. The farm 't Ruwhof, owned by the G.H. van Eerden family, was a stronghold of the resistance.
The arms store of the Aaltense Knokploeg (KP) was housed here. Also, from August 1943, identity cards and work permits (Z cards) were forged by master forger Broos. Due to betrayal, in October 1944 the farm was raided by the Germans.
