War Memorial Boer War Hartlepool

The memorial commemorates the 320 men of who fought, and the 23 men who died in the Boer war. The granite plinth originally held a bronze statue of a soldier, but this was stolen in March 1968.

In honour of the 320 men from this town & district who fought for their country in the South African War 1899-1902 and in memory of those who gave their lives & whose names are inscibed below
