The battlefield cross marked the grave of George B Purvis, who was killed in action at Messines Ridge on 8th June 1917. He is buried in the Klein-Vierstraat British cemetery.

Martin James Richardson M.B. was killed at Ypres on 3rd November 1914. He served in the 21st Field Ambulance, and was Mentioned in Despatches. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Menin Gate memorial.
