This memorial commemorates the war victims of the village Raamsdonksveer. The memorial consists of four marble columns with loose brown stones on it. In the middle of the memorial lie five marble bars with the text:
WAARNA ER DIEPSTE STILTE VALT
VAN VREDE ZO VERZADIGD
DAT ER GEEN WOORD TE HOREN
DAT ER GEEN ZUCHT IN PAST
EN DAN PAS IS HET GOED
Translated in English this is:
AFTER THERE FALL A DEEP SILENCE
OF PEACE SO SATURATED
THAT NO WORD TO HEAR
THAT NO SIGH IN FITS
AND ONLY THEN IT'S GOOD
In Raamsdonksveer a plaque has been placed at the war memorial for the victims who fell in the Dutch East Indies. The victims were:
J.L. VAN BEEK, 1946
W.A. BOONS, 1948.
