Stalag VI A was one of the largest prisoners-of-war camp in Germany in World War II, in already existing barracks.
Nowadays there is a permanent exhibition about the camp, which is however closed on Sunday.
There are also 2 war cemeteries in Hemer for the 23.900 victims of the camp.
