Memorial Assault on "Friedrich Wilhelm III"
During the battle of Königsberg, Fort V "Friedrich Wilhelm III" was defended by a 200 man German garrison, which capitulated on 8 April 1945 after 16 hours of heavy fighting. 15 Soviet soldiers were awarded with the titel: "Hero of the Soviet Union" for this action.
This memorial is dedicated to the Soviet soldiers who participated in the assault and fell.
