Pillbox Ballater

Travelling south from Braemar past the ski fields near the summit of the hill is a pill box that looks down the valley to a tank trap. If you look carefully at the out the window shot you can see down the valley in approximately the middle of the shot, a load of huge concrete blocks to stop tanks!

To find it, going south stop at the very top near the cell tower park on the left hand side of the road in the carpark. Looking to the south there is a yellow police gate for shutting the road in bad conditions, cross the road right there on foot, there is an old road going almost parallel on angle slightly up, while the main road goes down to the south. The pill box is about 300m along there (it can be seen from the main road but only just) the tank trap is further down the valley on the left side looking down and can be seen from the pill box but not from the road while driving.
