German War Cemetery Perl-Besch

This cemetery is the largest graveyard (Kriegsgräberstätte) for soldiers of the Second World War in the Saarland. Here the dead of Germany and also other nationalities have been put to rest.

The cemetery is situated in the middle of a range of strong houses of the former Westwall. A special detail is the fact that the cluster of crosses at the entrance has been placed on top of a left over of such strong house.
