Concentration Camp Stutthof

Stutthof was a concentration camp in the Northern sector of Poland, 35 kilometres east of Danzig. It was established in September 1939 as a prisoners camp for civilians. In January it became a concentration camp. Totally 115.000 prisoners were kept in the concentration camp. 65.000 of them died here and 22.000 prisoners were sent to other camps. The main camp of Stutthof was liberated on 9 May 1945 by the Soviets.

Nowadays the former concentration camp is a national museum. Entrance is free. Charge only for guided tours. Children under 13 years are not allowed in the museum.
