Sherman Tank Crew Memorial Mélines

At the edge of the road between Hotton and Mélines is the "Sherman Tank Crew Memorial"
There are three plaques on the memorial.

At the top:
"A SHERMAN TANK OF COMPANY H, 66TH AR,
2ND ARMORED DIVISION, US ARMY, became
hit here by mines on January 3, 1945

Killed in action:
2LT G.C.CONNEALY
SGT C.TERREBONNE
T5 R.M. HINSENKAMP
T4 E.L.PETERSEN
PFC A.H.MANGINO"

Middle:
"On January 3, 1945, the day of the
American counter-offensive
in the Ardennes
fell here, next to the
5 aforementioned tankers,
a squadron
infantrymen belonging to the
335th RGT-84 division
on board the M4 tank
from Lt. Connealy.
Their names remained unknown"

Bottom plate:
"Thanks to
the Houyoux company
from Marloie"
