Memorial Stone Near Niccone

1.2 kms outside of the village Niccone, along the SP 416 in the direction of Mercatale, there is another memorial in connection to the Memorial stone Niccone (https://www.tracesofwar.com/sights/123374/Memorial-Stone-Niccone.htm). This monument was erected and dedicated to the memory of the same 12 contadini who were murdered in 1944 on the 30th anniversary of the atrocity. The ruined farmhouse in the background was the home of all of those who were slain.

The inscription translates as:

"We do not hate, we ask only those who remember us that others should not die by the hand of an assassin.

The people of Umbertide to the 12 victims of the Nazi fascists".

There is a memorial service at this memorial stone every year on 28 June
