War Commemoration Chapel Metterich

This chapel commemorates the fallen of both world wars and the war of 1870.

There is also a separate memorial plaque for leutnant Claus von Bohlen and Halbach who crashed here in the area on January 10, 1940 with his Messerschmitt after an air battle with 2 enemy planes. Leutnant von Bohlen was a descendant of the famous German family Krupp.
