Commemorative Plate Escaped Prisoners

This commemorative plaque in the shape of an arrow on the outer wall of the Liège Citadel indicates the place where on January 20, 1942 three prisoners sentenced to death managed to escape from the Citadel used by the Germans as a prison, they had to cross the 12 meters high wall that they succeeded. They manage to reach England via Marseille, Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar.
