Shipwreck USS Chevalier (DD-451)
The USS Chevalier (DD-451) was severely damaged in a sea battle with Japanese vessels on 6 October 1943. The ship was scuttled by USS La Vallette the next day. Its crew suffered 54 killed and 36 wounded.
