The museum tells the story of the dramatic events that happened in Finnmark en Nord Troms during the Second World War and the reconstruction when peace came. In 1944, the scorched earth policy of the Germans and the forced evacuation of the population left this northern part of Norway desolated. Soon when the war was over, the population started to rebuild their houses.
