Memorials Great Synagogue Rome

These memorials commemorate:

-The six million Jews murdered by the Nazis. Over eight thousand were from Italy, with two thousand and ninety-one from Rome.The inscription reads:

Del popolo d'Israele sei milioni le inmnocenti vittime in Evropa dei bieco odio razziale

Non aride cifre son queste ma nella civilta offesa nella offesa all santa legge di dio e questo un tributo di lacrime di sangue

- The 335 Italians murdered by the Nazis in reprisal for the Via Rasella attack conducted the previous day against the SS Police Regiment Bozen. The inscription reads:

Alle fosse Ardeatine il corpo martoriato su questa pietra il nome imperituro fra la bracia dell'eterno l'anima immortale

- The Jewish partisans who fought and died resisting the Nazis. The inscription reads:

Eebrei partigiani per la liberta dell'Italia per l'onore del popolo d'Israele contrio la barbarie nazifascista combatterono e caddero
