Crash location Avro Lancaster Mk.I R-5611 Rossum

Seven airmen who died in a dogfight in Rossum during the Second World War have a memorial site at this location.

The accident happened late in the evening on May 13, 1943. The bomber carrying the crew members was en route from England to the Czech Republic when it was shot down.

All seven crew members died in the crash and are buried at Rossum R.C. Cemetery.
