Memorial monument to Jans Zwinderman

Behind the church of Sleen is a plaque stone in remembrance of Jans Zwinderman. The text on the plaque reads:


In memory
JANS ZINDERMAN
* July 2, 1918 in Gieten
† May 15th, 1945 at Lübtheen, Meckelenburg (D)
First civil servant and acting
municipal secretary of the municipality of Sleen.
By his contribution to the resistance
he prevented much human suffering.
