Crash Site Lancaster MK III PB255 Oostelbeers

Crash site of the Lancaster MK III of 460 RAAF Squadron. This bomber was hit by a German night fighter on 24 December 1944 on its way to Germany. The crew decided to return to England due to damage, but the plane exploded above Oostelbeers. All 7 crew members were killed.

The monument has been placed on the military training ground Oirschotse Heide, but can be visited freely in compliance with the rules.
