War Memorial Heijplaat
A new war memorial was placed at the Henk Huismanplantsoen in Heijplaat in October 2018. This memorial commemorates "FOR ALL WHO HAVE FALLEN" and in particular the approximately 1500 Jewish refugees who lived in the nearby refugee camp Quarantine asylum from November 1938 to November 1939. It also commemorates the resistance fighter Arie den Toom.
