This camp was used for the internment of Jewish refugees, Holocaust survivors and immigrants in the '30s and '40's. On 10 October 1945, the 'Palmach' broke into this camp and liberated 200 Jews. After the Second World War, the camp was used as POW camp for Arabs, including Egyptian and Lebanese soldiers.
