Princess Anne’s Battery Gibraltar

This coastal battery was constructed in 1732 and originaly armed with five 12 pounders. During the 19th century, Princess Anne’s Battery was modernized with four 76mm (3") guns three 13-inch mortars. In 1942 it was proposed to arm the battery with four 133mm (5.25") guns. These guns did not become operational until 1956.
