Fortress Brest - Fort "W"
This fort was constructed from 1912 to 1915 as component of the Brest fortress. Between 1940 and 1941, this fort was modernized and the Soviets constructed several fortifications around it as extra protection. In 1941, fort "W" and surrounding fortifications were engaged in a short skirmish with the Germans.
