German War Cemetery Merkiné

Vienkiemio kapines, a German war cemetery from WWI. The cemetery is located on the edge of the forest and is surrounded by a low earth wall. The entrance consists of 2 stone portals, which probably once had a wooden fence. About 60 stone burial crosses can still be found, many in poor condition. The graves, dating from 1915, lie in a square around the central wooden cross.
