Monument to the Fallen in the Great War of Trani

This Memorial is situated in the park of the Villa Comunale and occupies a beautiful position with views over the Adriatic Sea. It was sculpted in 1923. On the posts of the two benches to either side of the main monument, the names of the 4 rivers Livenza, Isonzo, Piave & Adige are inscribed. Some of the fiercest battles of WW1 were fought in their valleys and on their hillsides.
The WW2 25 pounder artillery piece is a bit incongruous.
