Information Sign Escape to freedom with tugboat Altas V

At the ferry from Eijsden to Lanaye is this information board. It tells the story of the Belgian refugees during the First World War.

They had left from Pont Atlas, the bridge across the Meuse which coincidentally had the same name as the tugboat. A monument has been erected near this bridge to commemorate this flight of 103 refugees.
