Dutch War Graves Roman Catholic Cemetery Sint Jeroen Noordwijk

On the St. Jeroen Cemetery in Noordwijk is one Dutch war grave of a Dutch marine. This is the grave of Hendrikus Gerardus Hermans.

Hermans, coming from Noordwijk was stationed in Den Helder. During the outbreak of the war, he and other Marines were transfered to Amsterdam. In Amsterdam, he was shot by a Dutch police officer who could not identify Hermans uniform.

On the St. Jeroen Cemetery in Noordwijk is one Dutch war grave of a civilian casualty of the Second World War. This is the grave of Simon Steenvoorden. Simon died in Heringen (Germany) due to the German Arbeitseinsatz.
